Maggie Garverick is a deserving nominee for the January Athlete of the Month for her outstanding leadership, character, and performance as a senior and team captain of the varsity soccer team. Despite dealing with ongoing knee pain, Maggie consistently shows up for her team, demonstrating perseverance, mental toughness, and an unwavering commitment to her teammates and the game. Her strong work ethic and discipline have helped her maintain an elite level of play, recording 23 goals and 12 assists over 10 games. She led her team on a four-game winning streak in January, scoring and assisting in each game. Maggie exemplifies sportsmanship, honesty, and humility, always respecting coaches, officials, opponents, and teammates while putting team success above individual recognition. Her positive attitude and enthusiasm are evident both on and off the pitch, and her leadership as a captain inspires those around her. For her dedication, resilience, and impact on and off the field, Maggie Garverick is highly deserving of recognition as January Athlete of the Month.
