Admissions in Six Steps

Step 1: Schedule a Family Tour or Attend a Come & See Event
Begin your journey by experiencing life at JP2 firsthand. Join us for a campus tour or register for one of our Come & See events to learn more about our community and the admissions process.

Step 2: Schedule a Shadow Day
Eighth-grade students are invited to be a Lion for a Day by shadowing one of our Lion Ambassadors on select Tuesdays throughout the fall. To participate, students must first attend a tour or Come & See event, or have submitted an application.

Step 3: Submit Your Application
Apply online to be considered for the 2026–2027 academic year. The application will be available beginning October 3, 2025, and includes a non-refundable $85 application fee.

  • Submit your application by December 20, 2025 to receive priority consideration.

Step 4: Register for the High School Placement Test (HSPT)
All applicants must take the HSPT, offered on December 6 and December 13, 2025. Registration will open in the fall.

Step 5: Schedule Your Family Interview
After submitting your application, schedule a family interview with our Admissions Office. Both the applicant and at least one parent/guardian should attend.

Step 6: Submit Recommendations and Transcript Release Form
Students must request letters of recommendation from a current teacher and their grade school principal. A transcript release form must also be submitted; either through the online application portal or delivered to the JP2 front office.

Note: Your application is considered complete once Steps 3–6 are fulfilled.

Admissions FAQs

Do you accept transfer students?
We do not accept transfers once the school year has begun. Sophomore applicants may apply for the following academic year. We do not accept senior transfers, and junior transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to schedule a family tour if I already have a student enrolled at JP2?
No, if you already have a child attending JP2 a family tour is not required.

How can I learn more about financial aid?
Once you begin an application, you will be invited to attend our workshops focused on helping families understand how to afford a Catholic education.

Who can attend a Shadow Day? Can I request a specific student for my child to shadow?
Shadow Days are exclusively for 8th grade students. While you may request a specific JP2 student for your child to shadow, we cannot guarantee availability.

Does my student need to take the HSPT at JP2?
If JP2 is your child’s first-choice school, we strongly encourage them to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at JP2, as it includes a required essay component for our application.
If your child takes the HSPT at another location, they must come to JP2 on December 13 to complete the essay portion.
