Schola Cantorum

 The St. John Paul II Catholic High School “Schola Cantorum” (known as Schola) is a “school of singers” who prepare music for our weekly school masses. We primarily specialize in singing liturgical music, including Gregorian chant, hymns, and polyphony. The goals of the club include: education in the Catholic Church’s tradition of sacred music; development of reading skills in music (both Western music notation and Gregorian chant); gaining confidence in vocal performance; and, most of all, fostering a spirit of prayer at Mass for ourselves and those in the congregation.
